Recreation Coach Program
The PPR Recreation Coach Program includes 3 fundamental online teaching courses ideal for part-time or full-time pickleball instructors and professionals. Ideal for summer camps, new player programs, and introductory events, the Recreation Coach Training Program is designed to help coaches create fun, dynamic, and rewarding experiences for people of all ages learning the sport of pickleball.
This Program Includes
- 3 online courses (3 hours total)
- Self-paced with built-in quizzes
- New content added annually
- Completion certificate
Participants (members and non-members) can access the content and earn a program completion certificate as a PPR Trained Recreation Coach. The online program contains 3 hours of engaging content with “Checks for Understanding” that can be completed at the pace of the participant. Courses included in the Recreation Coach Training Program
How to Conduct an Introductory Pickleball Clinic for Adults Course (75 minutes online)
Covers fundamental skill progressions (7 Step Rally Ready Progression) fun games, technical and tactical tips, and methods for organizing groups for instruction in a fun and dynamic manner.
Youth Play and Development Course (90 minutes)
This comprehensive tutorial includes key skill activities, fun games, dynamic play rotations, and play supervisor tips for working with youth ages 8-18 in traditional and non-traditional spaces. (Note: The instructional content, games, and fun play rotations apply equally as well to adults and seniors).
The Five P’s in Coaching Pickleball (35 minutes)
A teaching fundamentals course that applies to multiple sports and tailored for pickleball coaches. Overviews the art and science of coaching with a focus on What to Teach and How to Teach. A truly essential course for anyone working with kids and adults.
